Hong Kong International Airport: free transit city tours for passengers with seven hour layovers
Hong Kong International Airport runs a free guided city tour for transit passengers facing a long connection. Professional guides take travellers out of the terminal and into the city between flights, with routes that range from harbour promenades to temples and old neighbourhood markets. The airport surrounds the tour with more free ways to use the wait, from cultural craft workshops at the gates to round the clock showers and a children playground. Registration happens at the transfer counters in the main terminal and places are arranged on the day, so a dull layover can turn into a bonus city visit at no cost.
